Profile: Enrique Márquez

Enrique MarquezEnrique Márquez has served as principal violist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra, DiCapo Opera Theater and the Ossia Symphony Orchestra among other ensembles. Enrique had his Carnegie Hall debut recital in Weill Hall with Paquito D’Rivera in 2005. Has performed at the Berlin Philharmonie and Konzerthaus, the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the Kennedy Center, Teatro Colón,  Vienna’s Konzerthaus and at the Leipzig Gewandhaus among other venues.

Enrique currently serves as Festival Coordinator for the Music Festival of the Americas at Stowe, Vermont. Enrique is a member of the International House New York Alumni Association Steering Committee. Has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Enrique has performed and recorded in over 20 countries throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. Collaborations with the Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the United Nations Association of New York.

Enrique holds degrees from the Interlochen Arts Academy, Indiana University-Bloomington and the Manhattan School of Music, further studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin.
